It’s an old man christmas of dry toast and coffee
The Pope speaks of magic and miracles
Waitresses work late for tips and slow mercy
Walking home through whistles from wet whooshing vehicles
And I don’t know my brother’s guilt nor amends
His new born tastes distant to my decadent eyes
And I don’t want to talk to my lady friends
Merely rest on lullaby breasts after we moan and writhe
It’s an old man christmas
Who will miss us
When we scurry away to our fears and our homes

Jesus forgive us
We forgot to mention you in our jingles and poems
I’m wet and salty with fresh fish from the ocean
I’m scarred and hairy with venison from the pasture
I’m big and clunky and drowned in emotion
My dreams are perfect, plain, and filled with failure

Too awkward to be standing near the innocent kind

This is wonderful! A noisy indie vaudevillian spaghetti western song cycle played partially on brilliant and bizarre homemade instruments, set in an imaginary place called Wowtown. It's every bit as fascinating and compelling as that garbled description indicates. Like The Wedding Present recording a Phil Spector tribute in Ennio Morricone's studio on Mars 🙂
