Dream For Queens
Her thoughts are painted, slapped,
And dripping light into the room
And all the people come and go
Just like thought balloons
They're just creatures out of myth,
Out of time, and out of tune
She’s now an artist
A starry night upon the moon
Dream…
She's come a long way from her
Nightclub boys and powders white
She gave up everything that
Used to make her feel alright
Until all that was left was
The art that saved her life
And now this sorceress
Dances alone in the moonlight
Dream… Dream… Dream…
I heard she draws little sketches
That become huge acrylics
Gardens of desire where
She can roam idyllic
And I heard she once put
My face inside a flower
That was floating in the sky
And reflected in a tower
Dream…
Crawling out of her canvas
While she is sleeping
A film of brilliant color coats
My body like a dream
And it's magic and delightful
And some day I just might do it
Crawl out of her canvas
Into her flat in Queens
Crawl out of her canvas
Into the dreams of queens.
