'Lach Today' was Lach's fourth full album and was released in February of 2007. To celebrate it's 10th anniversary we are releasing through Bandcamp 35 extremely rare hard copy CD's. First come, first served.

"This is my most rock, sharp-edged album. The band walked into the studio and the engineer, knowing my reputation in Antifolk, said it was the best acoustic studio in town. My immediate response was, "How do we change that?"
There are no electric guitars on the album but it's still has that jangly, classic new wave sound through some secret studio techniques we invented for the sessions."

Lach is joined by the band he was working with at the time, The Secrets, with Billy Ficca (of Television) on drums and Roy Edroso (of The Reverb Motherfuckers) on bass.

“Four Stars! Splendid! Best of it’s kind!” – Mojo Magazine

“East Village staple Lach personifies the Antifolk scene with his jangly, funny, pop punk songs. His album, Lach Today, puts the strong songwriting in a raw rock context.” – Timeout NY

“Deftly blending bouncy, catchy melodies with wry, witty lyrics, this delightfully offbeat and enjoyable corker makes for a very intoxicating sonic brew. The enthusiastic singing, the irresistibly jubilant acoustic guitar riffs, the jumpin’ drums, the divinely chillin’ organ ripples, the sheer giddiness and vitality of the playing, the ceaselessly springy rhythms, and especially the total sense of joy and fun which permeates every last blithely harmonic note all add up to one of the most immensely charming and entertaining albums I’ve heard in quite a spell. A terrific album.” – Jersey Beat

“There are songs commenting on the world in the way that underground artists do best. His storytelling songs are great too, rocking like songs that could be found in the jukeboxes of ice cream parlours of the 60s.” - nunuworldmusic.co.uk

“And such a spirit slips through each and every acoustic ramshackle gem. Ultimate, unperfumed honesty presented in a dynamic, audaciously timed and sharply rhymed demeanor; riotously infectiously yet touchingly shocking (this guy’s had a life), heart-warming and arousing all at simultaneous moments.” - rockfeedback.com

Includes unlimited streaming of Lach Today via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

Antenna 03:45
Antenna My face is too close to the picture I know I can’t see the truth If anyone is out there Please send me some proof At times I sense a presence But it’s hard to maintain the energy To raise my level of awareness Beyond hypnotized reality Antennae I am a conduit Antennae I am a vessel Antennae I am ready Antennae Talk with me I don’t believe in aliens Ghosts or UFOs I’m more concerned with finding intelligence In Vermont, Kansas and Idaho The enemy is watching Seductive, corporate and strong But the rebel alliance is waiting To hear the rallying song Beats, hippies, punks and anti The torch is passed down the line Ask yourself the eternal “Who am I?” Ask yourself “is now the time?” Go walk the streets of anywhere Read signs, coincidence and clues The universe is beneficent An invisible army is helping you

Parade 02:53
Parade Everyone got nervous when the local Antifolk bar put long red velvet curtains on the stage Such a scene I've never seen of dizziness and whispers of outrage And little Frankenstein was so unkind when he said, "Hey, they've desecrated my grave!" And little Susie Twoshitz reacted as if Auschwitz reopened up its maze Parade Meanwhile in Washington democracy came undone no one in the bars said a thing Rides were organized, announcements made but no one went down to protest the king Meanwhile, in the city, the cops were given freely new rules to search and seize who they please No protest singers could be found only handwringers with their frowns down upon their knees Parade Community is a lying word we use to describe the social life raft called fear What we called empowerment turns out to be a shower meant for those deaf enough to hear So if you see me standing on the corner of befuddlement looking to the streets and the skies It's only 'cause what I thought was dream theatre turned out to be a nightmare in disguise Parade In gossip we find all the chocolate treasures we need to keep ourselves up high High above loyalty, decency and common sense where we can flit and fly But candy wings tend to melt beneath the light of responsibility and consequence Yeah, pardon me if I refrain to participate in this old small town square dance Parade

The Human Torch Song I'm a blue man In a pink flame And I wonder when I'll see you again I'm smoking now Your brand name I'm burning hot in the cold rain Honey, my heart went onfire When you said goodbye Consumed by desire I lit up the night I'm the Human Torch, You're the Invisible Girl When I saw through you I saw the world Still, I miss you Long after you're gone Just a word from you And I flame on All my friends say that Love is letting go But it feels more like I'm melting pieces of my soul Still, I miss you Long after you're gone Just a word from you And I flame on I'm a blue man In a pink flame And I wonder when I'll see you again I need you I want you I gotta have you FLAME ON!

Junior 03:00
Junior Junior's in the city and her heart is all a treble She's been scouting out all the wrong places to be This one last chance to get it all together Was blown before she even got an answering machine Now her rent is late and her period is later And Percodan and aspirin might as well be the same damn thing All those Velvet songs of glory just told her half the story Loneliness and boredom are the flipside of those dreams God, there must be people somewhere far from the clock's cruel stare She senses they're presence in music, art and song And they got voices full of wings and faith thick as bone And all their answers feel like she's coming home Junior's in the city and her brain is a rebel It's been feeding her lines from a dog-eared script This one last chance to keep it all together It seems so hard when she's so ripped Hey, Junior, there's an answer that no pop song can deliver I'm sorry but it has to do with time and space and God Let no one tell you different but Mother Mary and Mrs. Einstein Both thought their kids were a little odd God, there must be people somewhere far from the clock's cruel stare She senses they're presence in music, art and song They have voices full of wings and faith thick as bone And all their answers feel like she's coming home like she's coming home Like Junior's coming home Come on home Junior we got supper waiting I'll save you a place at the table Junior

Do The Next Right Thing I hear the dark side calling Starts with chocolate then the internet Whispers to pick up a cigarette And forget, forget, forget But I got new tools for living Starts with asking for forgiving And being kind to myself Put those worries up on the shelf And just do the next right thing Just do the next right thing I can't help thoughts occurring Emotions attached with claws But how I react to feeling attacked Is a choice that I can make So, fight or flight, hey, take a backseat Let me just sit still and be Gonna let go And intuitively know To just do the next right thing To just do the next right thing Enemies are astonishing mirrors They make lives so much clearer To love or to hate To accept or to manipulate Inside myself there stands a cathedral I can decorate or destroy at my will I just pray this hour To have the power To just do the next right thing Do the next right thing

Love Song #1 02:24
LOVE SONG #1 The trees traced ancient patterns across a Rorschach sky While his hand caressed the moonlit valley of her breast and thigh The cat stepped lightly across the piano keys The air filled gently with feline melodies Just like that love songs come Just like that love songs are number one The song slipped slowly across the writer's mind He thought that he'd finally found out the perfect rhyme To describe the way her body twisted time While she sipped coffee from a Brazilian clime Just like that love songs come Just like that love songs are number one Later in the shifting summer afternoon He sits at the piano and works out the tune That the cat danced beneath last night's moon A poem to leave his lady love in the hope to see her soon Just like that songs come Just like that love songs are number one

Sixties Girl 04:00
Sixties Girl (For Jean Seberg) Pretty little Sixties eyes Queen of the butterflies Your world was so colorful There was no black or white There was only love A fairytale in France Waltzing with Othello The princess and the panther In the Parisian summer For so many love is a question And for them hate is the only answer They spied on you from their tower You made them choke on their cigars Hey, Jean, I read about you yesterday And how they planted stories in the press With a paid-off gossip columnist Confused the art with the artist They condemned the act with the actress They turned your life into a holy mess Leaving you pale and breathless Until you couldn't pass the final test You could never win And it could happen again Flowergirl beneath a world of stone Maybe now they'll leave you alone Still, I thought I'd write a song, a half-poem, For you and the next Sixties girl

Wail Away 02:22
WAIL AWAY Hot boy red come wail your way free The babes are in the circus they fell out of the tree The priests are in the paper, God is on T.V. I need a note, I need a golden note, to bring life back to me Little girl blue let's dance away the night The bands are hungry and looking for a fight Their fans are so angry they haven't had a bite Me, I need a twist, a simple kiss, of your sparkling moonlight Wail away Wail away Wail your way free Wail away Wail away Wail your way free Come on kiddies, scream back at the storm Your mom is in a cadillac hitting on the corn Your dad's a walking heart attack waiting to be born But you can have things different now that you've heard the horn Wail away Wail away Come wail your way free Wail away Wail away Come wail your way free

Let’s Make a Movie I got a Robert Mitchum cigarette slicked across my lip I got a Mexican sunset strapped tightly to my hip The ceiling fan is strobing my thoughts and whipping heat A few centavos more and I’m back on the streets You're the señorita with the lipstick swirling dreams with each stroke Can you lend a bum a dollar? Honey, can I bum another smoke? The consulate is busy The embassy’s a joke I’m stuck in this country and I’m running out of luck And I want to make a movie Let's make a movie Scene one: I say I love you Scene two: You love me Scene three: we get together Scene four: we start a family Let’s make a movie, I wanna make a movie. Stunt double! They don’t make ‘em like they used to adventures and mysteries So, I started up some trouble to cancel out my misery And if you’ll just cut loose I’ll take you along with me You’re the kind of girl you should be in a movie Scene one: I say I love you Scene two: You love me Scene three: we get together Scene four: we start a family Let’s make a movie, I wanna make a movie. Action sequence! Let’s make a movie starring you and me Running away together to a foreign country Find ourselves a preacher who don’t speak no inglee I want to make a movie; let’s make a movie Alright cut! To be continued...
