Effect A Change Do what you can when you can Don’t you worry about the whole big thing Do what you can when you can Don’t you worry about the whole big thing Effect a change When you can Posters on the wall Stencils on the street Advertising this week’s elite But their leather and their coke Turn their song into a joke Why pay to keep a rock star fat When hungry bands are singing on your block Effect a change Why pay to keep that rock star fat When hungry boys are singing on your block Effect a change When you can Do what you can when you can Don’t you worry about the whole big thing Effect a change Do what you can when you can Don’t you worry about the whole big thing Effect a change When you can Candy-headed boys, face of the week Selling out to the latest chic But their leather and their coke Why moan about world starvation When a hungry baby’s crying on your block? Why moan about world starvation When a hungry baby cry cry on your block? Effect a change Watch the tears come falling Watch them come falling Watch the tears come Falling Falling Falling Effect a change Effect a change Change your partner and dance around the room Change your life and forget about your doom Effect a change Effect a change

about

"One afternoon, in the Eighties, a friend brought me up to his makeshift studio in Times Square, NYC, to show me the DX7 synth he had just got. State of the art at the time. He said I could record something and so I wrote, played and mixed this song in the couple of hours we were there. Found it in the tape vault (old shoebox) this week and thought the lyric fit our time perfectly. So, go ahead punk, effect a change!" - Cheers, Lach
