Doomed From The Start Thugs and mentals stand gaping in the rain Screaming skeletons running from ghosts The city is eating its children From deep within its belly I hear the beast boast None of you can stop I’m too far inside of your heart None of you can stop You’re all doomed Doomed Doomed from the start Millions and millions of starving people Opaque faces swim in the streets Mole-men, mole-women their skin turned pale Blind eyes blinking and brains in jail Hypnotized parasites hyped on success You can’t tell them from the way that they’re dressed But stand them naked under noon’s bright sun And you’ll die laughing at your own reflection None of you can stop I’m too far inside of your heart None of you can stop You’re all doomed Doomed Doomed from the start I Ain't Doing Drugs (Over You) Maybe tomorrow I'll paint my jagged face, get back in the race chase my tail and wail Maybe tomorrow I'll blind my eyes, anesthetize, run and hide and cry Maybe tomorrow I'll fan the flame, see the man, kill the pain and scream But not now Not tonight I won't lose myself over you tonight I ain't doing drugs over you Maybe tomorrow I'll be dancing on the bar, swinging from a star, far from my heart filled with the sadness of being a man, my skull in my hand, far from dry land Maybe tomorrow will never arrive, I'll survive, lose this disguise and thrive But for now For tonight I won't lose myself over you tonight I ain't doing drugs over you

about

"This week's Subscriber Exclusive was recorded live at Sidewalk Cafe on July 22 1995. My group at the time was called The Sextet Offensive and we had some great times together. This is straight off of a cassette tape that's been sitting in a shoebox of tapes for many years. The first song, Doomed From The Start was from my first album 'Contender' and the second tune, Ain't Doing Drugs Over You' has never been recorded in the studio, this may be the only record of it." - Lach
