The Breakfast Special
Uh yeah, just give me the breakfast special, um, hold the bacon, and just keep that coffee coming, thanks…
I used to read her sign first
But I don’t read hers anymore
She’d get mad when I would read the news at breakfast
Now, I can take my time and sip on my refill
I used to love to see her
But I don’t see her anymore
I’d give her a pencil
And help with the crossword
But she’d always want to play
While I was reading about the nation
And she would cry at the bad news
Just as if she knew the people
I’d flip quick read her the comics
Which she called ‘the funnies’
I can’t eat without reading
Ever since I was little
I’d read the box as I ate up all my cereal
Quisp or Quake, who’s your favorite hero
I used to love to see her
But I don’t see her anymore
I used to read her sign first
